Reception is open from 8am – 8pm every day, but our friendly staff are there to make your stay one to remember so are always happy to help.

If you are checking in after 8pm, please let us know by emailing and request the door code. There will be night staff on call if there are any issues or if you require any assistance. Please call (+61) 2 9331 0520 if needed. Your sheets and room key will be left outside of reception. Please come down to reception the following morning by 10am to meet our friendly staff, pay for your room and formally check in.

No worries, it is super easy. We have partnered with Sydney Shuttles to bring you right to our front door from both the domestic and international airports. For domestic flights you meet at baggage carousel 5, and for International flights the meeting point is opposite ANZ bank. If you have any problems you can simply call 9661 1170 to arrange a meeting place. There are public phones available at the airport terminal. It only costs $14 – so cheap & easy!

If you are travelling by bus, you can catch a train straight from Central Station to Kings Cross Station, where we are just a short 5min walk away. Please see map for directions

Our kitchen is usually open pretty late. Opening times from 8am – 10pm.

Unfortunately we do not allow sleeping bags into the hostel rooms due to Australian health regulations; but we would be happy to store them in our FREE luggage storage for the duration of your stay.

No, we provide fresh, clean linen for you when you arrive. However we do not provide towels.

Our guests are entitled to a super awesome, fully cooked breakfast or cereals every morning just down the road at Mad Monkey Bar. It is a short walk from the hostel and you can find it on the main strip at 40B Darlinghurst Rd

At KXB, there’s always something to do and people to meet. You’ll make new friends as soon as you walk through our doors. We have events on every day & night so check out our Entertainment page for further information.

Not to worry; here at KXB we are a down to earth hostel who try to cater to all our guests needs. If partying isn’t your thing we also offer beach walks, movie nights, city tours and daytime BBQs all through the week so you’ll never be bored!

Staying in a backpacker hostel always means a great time and is an easy way to meet new, life-long friends. All of our guests at KXB are like-minded travellers aged between 18 and 35, here to make the most of their time in Sydney without spending a fortune.

KXB is a great base point for any guest, with a short bus ride to the famous Bondi beach. Most of our guests choose to take the scenic 25min walk to the centre of the city or you can catch the bus or train; which is a 3min walk from the hostel.

Kings Cross Backpackers is located in Kings Cross - the party capital of Sydney! This central location provides an ideal base for your Sydney adventures, with some of the best bars, clubs, restaurants and trendy cafes only a few seconds walk from the hostel. Don’t worry, we have a Thai restaurant, Japanese and pizza just up the road, to keep you safe when hunger strikes!

We are conveniently located just a 20-minute walk to some of the most famous locations in Sydney, including the Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Botanical Gardens and Sydney Tower. The hostel is a short one-minute walk to Kings Cross station, which allows you to travel quickly into the city, or travel to other famous Sydney landmarks like Bondi Beach, Manly Beach and the Blue Mountains.
